Gethin Davies (1846-1896) baptist preacher, writer and principal of the North Wales Baptist College, Bangor. He was educated at the Havod British School, Glamorgan, where he also served a five year apprenticeship as a pupil teacher. At the age of fifteen he started a young men's improvement class where he taught literacy and bible studies.
